Ingredients: Black Cardamom Pods, Coriander Seeds, Star Anise, Fennel Seeds, Cinnamon Stick, * Licorice Root, Cloves
*This traditional recipe contains Licorice Root. It is not necessary to use, but highly favored. Please consult with your doctor if you are pregnant or breastfeeding before use. We also provide the “Pho Sho Spice Kit” with no licorice root included.
Instructions: Empty spice kit into a bowl, taking out the included dry packet and tossing it in the trash. Set aside the muslin bag. Soak the spices in water for one minute, strain, then place your soaked spices into a dry pan and roast for 2 to 3 minutes or until aromatic. Now place your spices in your 100% cotton muslin bag and tie securely to close. Add bag to your Pho soup base towards the end of the last 30 - 45 minutes of simmering.
Do not consume spice kit. For use to flavor your broth when making an 8 - 10 quart pot of Goat, Beef, Chicken, or Vegetable Pho Soup.
